Hoyeon Kang
Summer Intern
My interest in plant biology began in high school, when I first learned about the complex mechanisms of plant hormone signaling. Until then, I had seen plants as passive and simple organisms, but I was fascinated to discover how precisely they respond to environmental stimuli and regulate their growth through internal signaling. Around the same time, I began to notice how climate change was already affecting daily life through news about declining crop yields and rising food prices. I came to believe that plant science could offer real solutions to these challenges.
My long-term goal is to become a scientist who develops crops that are resilient to environmental stresses, contributing to global food security and national agricultural stability. I’m deeply passionate about life science, and I believe plant biology holds the key to adapting to our changing world.
